Go Media Billboards

The Issue

A digital signage company and a local landowner had reached an agreement on the installation of a 12m x 3m digital billboard near the Ferry Road roundabout on the road to Sumner. Digital advertisers, Go Media, engaged Agnew Engineering to design and fabricate the steel frameworks and supports for the billboard and prepare them for the addition of digital flat screens. The scope included the framework for a 6m x 3m digital billboard for installation on Victoria Street, near the busy Carlton Corner intersection.

The Action

Agnew Engineering set about designing and building the billboard’s steel support frames to specification, from their Bromley workshop. The tighter confines of Victoria Street required the services of a crane to hoist the second billboard into position, against the side of an existing building.

“They gave us the dimensions, we designed and built the frames in our workshop, Go Media came here and fitted their display screens and then it was transported from here to on site for installation,” Brian Tomlin says.

The Result

A sophisticated, unmissable series of digital billboards across strategic locations throughout the city with high traffic volumes and unimpeded visibility. Unlike its fixed billboard counterparts, digital signage can show multiple adverts in a revolving timed display.

Go Media managing director Dean Shaw said he was really pleased with Agnew's work. “It was a really seamless install. BrIan doesn’t make a job more difficult than it needs to be. Which is uncommon sometimes with engineers. Would definitely use him again in future.”
