The Issue
A pet food manufacturer based in Belfast, Christchurch, relied heavily on a massive mixing machine to produce its range of pet food rolls.
The mixer was behaving erratically and had a very noisy gearbox, so they called Agnew Food Specialists to restore the mixer back to optimum performance.
The Action
The large Z shaped mixing arms were driven by their own gearbox and
upon closer inspection, it was clear the cause of the problem was a damaged gearbox and a broken driveshaft.
Agnew stripped the gearbox back, reinstalled the required new parts, regreased it and sourced and installed a new driveshaft to drive the Z mixer arms.
The Result
The result was a beautifully running gearbox and in turn a quieter, smoother mixing machine.
The risk of further breakdown was greatly reduced and the pet food manufacturer’s in-house engineer was relieved the problem was solved quickly and efficiently.
